Rotary Youth Leadership Presentation

At their recent regular meeting Members and guests of St Asaph Rotary Club were treated to an excellent presentation. Lois Jones and CÍt Roberts from Ysgol Glan Clwyd spoke about their experiences at Arfog during the Rotary Young Leadership Awards course. For the past 7 years the club has sponsored candidates on the Rotary Youth Leadership course. RYLA focuses on developing the skills and confidence of young people. The Rotary District organiser, Paul Crosby, complimented all the candidates on this yearís course and highlighted the long-term benefits to the candidates as they continue with their education and enter University, or enter a career elsewhere. The St Asaph Rotary Club proposes to sponsor two candidates on the 5 day course again next summer and is now beginning the search for two young people who might benefit. Rob Cotton from St Asaph said ďRYLA candidates not only receive a nationally recognised award but it can be used as the residential section of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award which makes this a highly sought after courseĒ.

Can St.Asaph Rotary Help You?

The Rotary Club is always looking for people and organisations in the community that it can help. The Club likes to help with charitable projects that they might be able to assist financially or physically and which show a clear benefit to the community of St.Asaph and surrounding districts.
Recently the Club were happy to give £100 to help the Community Association with their ever successful Christmas Party for older people.
Also the Club Council were pleased to agree an initial donation of £500 to Ben Rawsonís special appeal - see page 8 As this is such a deserving case this may not necessarily be the only donation that the Club makes and it will be looking for further ways to assist as the campaign progresses.
