Volunteers Wanted

St. Asaph Cathedral is looking for volunteers to help staff its new tearooms.
Work is already underway on the third of a million pound extension to the Cathedral which will be completed later this summer. In addition to tearooms the new facility will include community meeting rooms and toilets and will compliment a major interactive development.
The Dean, the Very Rev. Nigel Williams, said “These are exciting times for the Cathedral. The design and development of the extension and refurbishment have taken a long time to plan but we are delighted that work is now well advanced”

St Asaph Cathedral Choir Supports Ty Croeso

Following their very successful Hymnathon on 11th March last the Cathedral Choir Association continued with their tradition of previous years and selected, by ballot, a local charity tobenefit from a proportion of the donations received. This year the successful recipient was Ty Croeso. Ty Croeso is a charitable organisation that provides accommodation in a six bedroomed house within Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for the relatives of sick children and babies while they are receiving treatment in the hospital..On Saturday July 1st at the Choir’s Summer Concert Anne Jones and Brenda Newell from Ty Croeso PALS received the donation of £335.00 with much thanks. Cathedral Director of Music, Mr Alan McGuinness said that it was fitting that a charity connected with children should receive help this year as it is the boys and girls of the Choir, along with the Layclerks who helped to raise the money. Receiving the donation Mrs Anne Jones, Chairman of the PALS Volunteer Group said it was a big help towards their five figure annual running costs and thanked the Choir for their generosity.
