St.Asaph Senior Football Team

After a very positive preseason which saw them draw with Rhyl and lose a closely contested match against Prestatyn they lost their first two league fixtures. Since then they have drawn with Llandyrnog and title chasers Llangefni and lost 1-0 away to Llanrwst with the last kick of the match. The Reserves also had a positive pre season culminating in a 9-0 win over Rhydymwyn Youth. To date they have played two league matches and while they have lost both their performances , especially in a close 1-0 defeat to Denbigh Development have given Manager Peter Roberts and his assistant Lewis Jones reasons to be optimistic about the coming season.

The New Season Kicks Off

The Saints started their new season with a new kit, tracksuits and polo tops courtesy of our new sponsor Mr Gwyn Williams Spring Gardens / The Swan. We are very grateful to Mr Williams for agreeing to sponsor the team for the next three years. Our previous kit was kindly sponsored by Venture Caravans who have continued their support of the club by sponsoring two of the players. As we are one of the few clubs in the Welsh Alliance League who are unable to charge entry to our matches the support we get from local businesses who either sponsor a player or sponsor one of our home matches has been fantastic and is invaluable to the club. Home matches cost a minimum of 85 in fees to the Referee and the Assistant Linesmen with the expenses they also claim for travelling means that each home fixture costs the club at least 100.
We are also extremely grateful to R N Williams for their kit sponsorship of our newly established under 8s team. The team under the management of Roy Hilton will be playing their first competitive match on Sunday, September 17th and they will be wearing their new kit for their fixture at Pentre.
All our teams at ages u15, u13, u11, u10 and u8 have now either started their fixtures or are preparing for kick off. The first team have had a difficult start to their campaign.
