I would like to thank all the people who voted for me at the recent County Council elections. I was fortunate to be elected to serve as your County Councillor for St Asaph West and will endeavour to serve everyone in the West ward to the best of my ability. I have a hard act to follow as the retiring Councillor Mr Bill Cowie has been a stalwart for your area.
Commiserations to my other two Candidates in a well fought election campaign but I was lucky to come out victorious.
Thank you once again for your confidence.
County Councillor Peter Scott (West Ward)
Firstly I would like to thank all those who voted for me and gave me encouragement to stand. It was very pleasing to receive so much support.
I will, of course, serve everyone in the Ward who has a problem related to County Council activities and will try to ensure that St. Asaph is well represented in all County affairs.
Finally thanks should go to our retiring County Councillors for all their work in the past.
County Councillor Andrew Thomas (East Ward)
As your Conservative County Councilor for the past 13 years I would like to thank you all for giving me that honour of serving you.
It has been a privilege to have represented you during that time.
It is only my age that prevents me for standing again.
As I leave county I know that you will have a very good representation in Andrew Thomas and Peter Scott who both very much have the interests of St Asaph City at heart.
One must realise that finance is very tight, with the Welsh Government holding the purse strings it becomes harder each year to find the savings and at the same time making sure that the residents get the best possible front line services .
During my first 5 years in county the county stood still and very little progress was made.
Then the county changed its chief executive and from then on Denbighshire improved dramatically. From being one of the poorest performing councils it is in the top of councils in Wales.
Other councils now come to the county to see the methods that county uses and there cannot be a better accolade that.
I can only wish our representatives all the very best for the future and please remember my door is always open for anyone that I can help.
