Cefn Village Fete

JUNE 24 starting at 1.00pm

The Cefn Village Fete will be held this year at the Neuadd Owen Village Hall and field on June 24. After a successful event last year the organisers are promising an even “bigger and better” one this year. It will start at 1.00pm and go on until 11.00pm. You can come and go at will throughout the day because there is no charge to enter the field (car park). The extended hours over previous years is needed to accommodate all the additional attractions and activities. The traditional fete, which one visitor to the area described as “.......just like fetes used to be......” will in addition to the usual features, include this year, the Beulah Brass band; rides for children around the field on a tractor trailer; an opportunity to visit Cefn Caves, which are normally closed to the public and starting at 6.00pm a Hog Roast with entertainment by the Take 3 Jazz Band. A pop up bar will be open from 4.00pm until 11.00pm. Tickets will be required for this event, price £10. There are only a limited number of tickets available for Cefn Caves and the Hog Roast, so buy your tickets early to make sure you are not disappointed. That is not all, as in addition there will be a display of vintage cars and tractors and an opportunity to compare the size and capability of a large modern tractor with a vintage Massey Ferguson, There will also be one of the latest Eddie Stobarts trucks and an opportunity to win a ride in it, To add to this list there will be a Cake stall stocked with home-made cakes which people have been known to travel miles to buy; Prize Draw with a 1st prize of £100; BBQ; Book stall and Refreshments,
In fact something for all the family to enjoy!!
There was a large crowd last year, and everyone agreed it was a wonderful event, and with more on offer this year it is a day to look forward to and one not to be missed.
The proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the two churches in the parish, St Mary’s, Cefn and All Saints, Sinan and two charities, St Kentigern’s Hospice and Kanzi Kibera friends.
